CONVICTION QUASHED
DEATH SENTENCE ON ABORIGINAL. APPEAL MADE TO HIGH COURT. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Melbourne, Nov. 9. Tuckiar, the aboriginal who was sentenced to death at Darwin for the murder of Constable McColl, has been released on appeal to the High Court, which squashed the conviction. The court expressed the hope that the authorities would arrange for Tuckiar’s return to his tribe in the far north.
