CIVIL SERVANTS DEFEAT REST ■ MATCH PLAYED AT INGLEWOOD A cricket match, Civil Servants versus the Rest, was played at Inglewood at the week-end and resulted in a Win for Civil Servants by 6 runs on the first innings. Civil Servants batted first to reach the total of 66, W. Archer 16 and J. Russel 10 being the only batsmen to reach double figures. Bridger in taking five wickets for 24 runs was the most sue-, cessful bowler. The ' Rest responded with 60 runs, of which Thomason 14, Kelly 15 and Pyne 12 were the mam scorers. Burrows bowled very well to take three wickets for 3 runs. WIN FOR HURFORD ROAD. INNINGS MATCH WITH OMATA. A friendly cricket match was played between a team from Fluff ord Road and the Omata club at the week-end. Mr. T. James was captain for the Hurford Road and Mr. J. Donald was captain for Omata. Harvey took nine wickets for 33 runs and scored 44 for Patea in a week-end cricket match with Kohi, which was all out for 28. Kohi’s top scorer was I. Mitchell with 8. Hammond took six wickets for 15 runs in Patea’s first inings, Jellis being top scorer with 11 in a 54 tottL In the second innings Kohi made 89 eight wickets, to which Brown contest buted 48 retired.
