KAPONGA DEFEATS AUROA. A pleasant friendly tennis match was played between the Kaponga and Auroa clubs at the week-end. Glorious weather prevailed, but during the afternoon a ferocious whirlwind of brief duration was experienced. The scores were, Kaponga players being mentioned first; — Women’s singles: Mrs. J. Deegan 6—3, Miss D. Kirkcaldie lost to Miss M. Webby I—6. Men’s singles: J. Carey lost to A. Webby 3—6, J. Bolger beat L. West 6—3, S. Palmer beat A.- Sandford 6—l, P. O’Donoghue lost to R.
