STREET CROSSINGS
SCHEME TO BE CARRIED OUT. NO ALTERATION TO BE MADE. ' (British Official .Wireless.) Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Nov, 10, Mr. L. Hore-Bejisha, Minister of Transport, has decided to get aside the advisory committee’s recommendation that work on pedestrian crossings in London, including laying down studs in the roadway, should be discontinued pending a consultation. Mr. Hore-Bolisha says any alteration must inevitably confuse the public. He intends to adhere to the plan of laying down 10,000 crossings. The Minister has ordered the London schema to be extended to the rest of the country.
