BUTTER AND CHEESE
LONDON PRICES MAINTAINED. MARKETS SOMEWHAT EASIER. The London dairy produce market is maintaining the levels set last week, according to the latest cables from Tooley Street. New Zealand butter is averaging about 77s a cwt. and cheese 53s and 545. Mr. H. M. Thomson, representative of the Anglo-Continental Produce Company, has received cabled advice that butter is quoted at 76s to 77s and white and coloured cheese at 53s to 545. Both markets are easier. Messrs. Collett and Co. Ltd. was advised on Saturday by tlm firm’s British principals that prices are as follow: Creamery butter, finest 77s to 78s, first 75s to 765; cheese, white 53s to 545, coloured 52s to 535. Messrs. J. and J. Lonsdale and Co. (London) Ltd. have cabled Messrs. A. S. Paterson and Co. Ltd. as follows:— Butter: Market quiet; New Zealand 775, Australian 765, Danish 1245. Cheese: Market dull; white 545, coloured 535.
