CROQUET CLUB FORMED
ARRANGEMENTS AT AUROA. A meeting for the purpose of forming a croquet club at Auroa was held on Friday afternoon, when there were present Mesdames King, Benton, Schwieters, Ross, Everitt, Brown, Fairbrother, and Mischefski. Mrs. King, convener of the meeting, explained its object, and Mrs. Fairbrother acted as secretary for the afternoon. It was unanimously decided to form a croquet club at Auroa and the election of officers resulted: President, Mrs. King; secretary, Mrs. Benton; vice-president, Mrs. Everitt; committee, all present, with power to add. The annual subscription was fixed at 2s 6d. Mrs. King’s green will be used for play and a competition was arranged. An opening day will be arranged later.
