A meeting of delegates from various cricket clubs in the vicinity of Riverlea was convened by the Riverlea club for the purpose of fostering the game by a competition. Mr. J. Gibson was elected chairman and H. K. Harre secretary. It was passed that the points be two for a win and one for a draw and that play be from 1 p.m. to 3.45 p.m. The teams are to be from Kaponga, Riverlea, Auroa and Rowan. Fixtures were drawn up and the first matches are to be played at the end of January. An interesting feature of the ccfmpetition is that the winning club is to be given a complimentary dance by the other three clubs combined. PRIMARY SCHOOL CRICKET. WEST END AND FITZROY WIN. Two primary school cricket matches were played yesterday at Pukekura Park, where Fitzroy beat Central and West End beat Convent. West End won on the first innings by 36 runs. The total was 58 (Main 22). In the second innings West End declared when five wickets were down for 52 (Main 27 not out, Kurta 14). Lagor took' five wickets and Leach four. Convent reached 16 in its first innings, none of the team reaching double figures. In the second innings five wickets fell for 15. Elder was West End’s most

dangerous bowler, taking nine wickets. Main took three. Fitzroy beat Central by six runs on the first innings, scoring 65 for seven wickets against Central’s 59.
