FANCY DRESS DANCE
GATHERING AT WAITORIKI ROAD. EUCHRE TOURNAMENT AS WELL. A successful plain and fancy dress ball and euchre party was held in the Lincoln Road hall on Friday night, when there were visitors from Inglewood, Lepperton, Waitara and surrounding districts. The music was played by Harris Bros, orchestra, with an extra by Miss E. Simmons. Mr. D. Pennington was master of ceremonies and Mr. D. G. Tuck supervised the euchre tournament. Euchre prizes were won by Mrs. Morrow and Mrs. Raynor and Mr. E. O’Callaghan junr. and Mr. L. Old. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr. T. Standing and Miss Munro. Prizes for fancy dresses were awarded as follow: Miss W. Bleakley (Maori) and Mr. R. Bennett (Swagger), special, and Mrs. Anderson and Miss Nola Sarten (English Twins), Miss Old (Sixteenth Century), Mr. D. Pennington (Dick Whittington), Miss Maggie Nicholls (White Butterfly), Miss Nicholls (Cabbage;. Others in fancy dress were: Mrs. D. Pennington (Hymn 255), Mrs. Russell (Mascot), Miss Jean Alleman (Highland Dancer), Miss Eaves (Huntsman), Miss G. Young (Kindergarten), Miss R. Mehrtens (Guy Fawkes), Miss B. Pearce (French Lady). Miss E. Simmons (Eastern Lady), Miss Thora Metcalfe (Victorian Pierrette), Miss M. Knofflock (Gipsy Boy), Miss Margaret Knofflock (Gipsy), Miss Flintoff (Tamboureen), Miss V. Tuck (Haberdashery), Miss A. Raynor (Nurse), Miss Betty Fredrickson (Dutch Girl), Miss Olive Mehrtens (Gipsy); Mr. Hallett Sanne (Why Did I Kiss That ?), Mr. B. Reesby (Schoolboy), Mr. D. Metcalfe (Pirate), Mr. Rowan (Highlander), Mr. Rowan (Sailor). Personal Items. Mr. A. L. Winter has returned from hospital. Mr. A. O’Byrne, Egmont Village, is visiting his brother, Mr. J.
