PURANGI CHURCH GUILD
ELECTION OF OFFICERS. • At a meeting of the Purangi hall committee on Saturday night the following committee was elected for the year: Chairman, Mr. V. S. Fletcher; secretary, Mrs. Watkins; committee, Mesdames F Turner and V. S. Fletcher, Messrs. F. Turner, J. Caldwell, W. Bertrand and W. Grey.
The annual meeting of the ladies’ guild was held on October 30. The chairwoman, in discussing the annual report and bal-ance-sheet, said that during the past 12 months the committee had made £2O from social gatherings. The last concert and dance realised about £6. It was decided to forward £1 Is to the Maori mission and £2 2s towards vestry funds. A donation of 10s was made to the children’s Sunday school prize fund. The election of officers resulted as follows: Mesdames E. A. Matthews (chairwoman), A. J. Webb (secretary), F. Turner, V. S. Fletcher and Misses A. Campbell and S. Mounsey. On Wednesday the guild will meet at the church for the annual spring cleaning.
