COOL TEMPERATURES LIKELY.

Some scattered showers are probable, mainly on the east coast and in the far north and south, but otherwise the weather will be fair to cloudy, says to-day s forecast. Temperatures will be cool, with a few inland frosts in the South Island. A depression is passing eastward and an anti-cyclone is approaching from the Tasman Sea. Southerly .winds are probable, strong at places in the far north and south but otherwise light to moderate. Seas will ne rather rough on parts of the east coast south of East Cape and elsewhere smooth to moderate.
