MURDER OF RUSSIAN
ARREST OF YOUNG MAN MADE. CRIME OF YOUTHFUL BANDIT. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Rec. 9.50 p.m. Melbourne, Oct. 17. Detectives to-day arrested William Paul, aged 18, on a charge of murdering Paul Drasdoff at Waverley on September 2. * Ignoring a demand to put up his hands, Drasdoff, aged 45, a Russian, was shot dead in his suburban shop by a youthful bandit who with a companion was interfering with the till when he was surprised by Drasdoff. The men escaped in the darkness before they could be overtaken by Drasdoff’s wife.
