OKAIAWA CROQUET
CLUB’S OPENING DAY HELD. WINNERS OF COMPETITIONS. There was an attendance of over 60 at the opening day of the Okaiawa Croquet Club on Tuesday, surrounding clubs being well represented. The president, Mrs. Lees, welcomed the visitors and Mr. J. E. Meuli, patron of the club, declared the lawns open, Mrs. Meuli playin_ • the first ball. Winners of competitions were: Golf croquet, Miss Erna Ward; ladder, Mrs. f). Green; peg, Miss D. Johnstone; bell, Miss Tait; angles, Mrs. Williams; in and out, Mrs. Dowden. Personal and General. Mrs. Mclntyre ar... Mrs. A. Fraser left at the week-end for Wellington. A number of Okaiawa golf enthusiasts travelled to Wanganui on Friday to witness the New Zealand golf championship P1 Mr. and Mrs. G. Preece have recently returned from an extended tour of the South Island. # Miss R. King is an inmate of the Hawera Hospital. Mrs. O. Crawford has returned home. Mrs. Mclntyre sen. is visiting OkaiMr. and Mrs. Foster, Rongotea, are the guests of their daughter, Mrs. G. Good.
