WAITARA BRIGADE
WORK OF FIRE FIGHTING CORES. REPORT BEFORE ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of 'the Waitara volunteer fire brigade was held on Tuesday night, the superintendent, Mr. C. C. Limmer, presiding. The superintendent in his report noted that the balance-sheet was not in the healthy state it had been in previous years, but under the circumstances it was considered very satisfactory. The fire calls the brigade received were very small, but he congratulated the members on their prompt attention to them. He congratulated the winners of the competitions and thanked the donors of prizes, who made it possible for the competitions to be held. He also congratulated the team that won the Crabtree Shield and its coach. The officers had given loyal support and carried out their respective duties well during the year. He concluded by thanking the judges and handicapper and all others who helped the brigade. The election of officers resulted: Foreman, Mr. C. Tanner; secretary, Mr. W. Terrill; treasurer, Superintendent C. C. Limmer; executive, Messrs E. Procter, E. Thomas and the other officers.
