Gene Sarazen, the American champion, playing on the difficult Tamworth course, the par of which is 70, returned a card of 62. The previous best score was Walter Hagen’s 66. The course was heavy after rain, but Sarazen’s highest score for any hole was four. An Adelaide message states that Bufas Stewart played an amazing round of 63 at the Koyonga course. The par is 72.
