A TWO-YEAR-OLD boy was trapped under the muddy water of the canal’ at Shipley, England, when a perambulator fell in. Hearing screams, a boatman ran 200yds, crossed a bridge, and brought the perambulator to the surface with a boathook. The child was unconscious, but the boatman, William Patchett, applied artificial respiration until the arrival of a doctor. The baby recovered. SLATHER CYRIL MARTINDALE, K of Farm Street Church, London, carried the relics of St. Philomena, a Roman girl who was martyred in A.D. 150, in the procession at Pinner, Middlesex, in' celebration of the saint’s festival.
