CAR RUNS INTO HOUSE
SWERVE FOLLOWING COLLISION.
BUILDING SLIGHTLY SHIFTED.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Sept. 17.
Late on Saturday a heavy limousine driven by Miss E. Hamilton, of St. Albans, jumped the side channel in Bealey Avenue, smashed a six-foot paling fence and then crashed into the side of a house, portion of which was shifted off its foundations. A number of articles in the room, including a clock, were broken. The bumper of the car was embedded in the broken weatherboards. One of the occupants of the house, Mrs. E. Blewett, received a severe fright from the noise and impact. The driver of the car was unhurt. The accident was caused by the car colliding with another at a comer and swerving off the road.
