“BEST MAN IN THE WORLD”
OPINION OF MR. F. D. ROOSEVELT.
NEW ZEALANDER’S IMPRESSION.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night.
“He is the best man in the world,” asserted Miss Mary McMahon, formerly of Christchurch and now of Mobile, Alabama, who arrived by the Maunganui from San Francisco to-day on a visit to relatives in the South Island, when asked what she thought of President Roosevelt. “He really is a marvellous man,” continued Miss McMahon, “because he is so sincere and for the people, and it is so easy at any time to get in touch with him There is nothing high and mighty about him. One doesn’t need a thousand letters before one can reach him On his recent trip to the West people travelled hundreds of miles just to see the train in which he was travelling, perhaps not to catch a glimpse of him.”
