ALLOCATION OF £250 REWARD.
CONSIDERATION BY DEPARTMENT.
(By Wire.—Parliamentary Reporter). . Wellington, Last Night. Consideration of the allocation of. the reward of £250 offered for the detection of the Ruawaro murderer is now being undertaken by the Police Department. When questioned on the subject to-day the Hon. J. G. Cobbe said .favourable consideration had been given to the matter, and a suitable apportionment of the reward was now being dealt with by the department. The reward was offered for information leading to the conviction of the person responsible for the murder of Samuel Pender Lakey and Christobel Lakey in , October of last year. Late in the year William Alfred Bayly was arrested after exhaustive police inquiries had been ? made, and in July last Bayly was executed as the penalty for both murders.
