KIORE SOCIAL FUNCTION
FUNDS FOR CHRISTMAS TREE. Last Friday the Kiore school committee held a successful euchre party and dance in aid of the school children’s Christmas tree. Visitors came from surrounding districts, including Te Wera, Matau and Huiroa. The ladies’ euchre prize was won by Miss O. Ryan, Te Wera, and given by Mr. Bellringer, Stratford, while the men’s prize, given by Hallenstein Bros, was won by Mr. A. Patterson. A Monte Carlo was won by Mr. Dick Kemp and Miss Rene Patterson, while a box of chocolates, which was given by Mr. T. Smith, was won by Mr. B. G. Rolfe, Matau. The music for the dance was supplied by Messrs. Patterson, F. Stockley, Joe Stockley and Misses Louie and Rena Knox. Mr. F. Kibblewhite has returned after spending a holiday with his sister at Napier. Miss Rena Knox, after a short stay with her sister, Mrs. O. Lofroth, has returned home.
Miss Noreen Rogers, Huiroa, who is staying in the district, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. Vercoe.
Mr. and Mrs. Richie and family have taken up their residence in the Kiore district.
