MOUNTAIN RACE DANCE
EVENT OUTSTANDING SUCCESS. ■ £ The first mountain race dance to be conducted in the Agricultural Hall this season attracted a record attendance on Saturday evening. Music was supplied by Vinsen’s Ambassador Dance Band. Supper arrangements were efficiently conducted by the ladies’ committee. Messrs. G. Sple, j. Donaldson and H. Bocock were masters of ceremonies. The waltzing competition was judged by Mr. A. Roberts and resulted in a win for Mr. McCandish and Miss Wilfred, Opunqke, Mr. Schnider and Miss McCandish were second. The fox-trot competition, judged by Miss Howard Webb, was won by Mr. Woodward and Miss Devery. Mr, Morris and Miss Parker were the winners of the Monte Carlo waltz competition and the mystery gay Gordon prize winners were Mr.' Donrell and Miss Hoffman, Messrs. G. M. and D. Beer - acted as doorkeepers and Mr. L. C. Simons was in charge of the cloak-room.
