CHARGE FOLLOWS DEATH
NEGLIGENT JIRIVING ALLEGED.
ADJOURNMENT OF AN INQUEST.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night.
An adjourned inquest was held at Milton to-day before Mr. H. J. Dixon, S.M., into the circumstances of the death of Thomas Twaddle, aged 18, who was killed near Clarendon on Saturday, August 4, as the result of a collision between his motor-cycle and a motor-car driven by William James Strang, Invercargill. After evidence had been heard the inquest was further adjourned and at a sitting of the Magistrate’s Court Strang was formally charged with negligent driving, thereby causing the death of Twaddle. He pleaded not guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial, bail being allowed in his own recognisance of £lOO and one surety of £lOO.
