SCHOOLS’ DENTAL CLINIC
MATAPU COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the Matapu School Committee was held last week. Those present were Messrs. A. J. Prestidge (chairman), L. Cleaver, O. Robertson, W. T. Seed (secretary). Mr. Prestidge, delegate to the Eltham dental clinic committee, gave a report on activities of the committee. He elaborated a scheme propounded by Mr. F. Muggeridge, chairman of the committee, whereby the onus of. finding sufficient money to treat every eligible pupil fell on the committee of each school. A letter from the Tamora School Committee about a travelling dental clinic was dealt with at the South Tarj naki School Committees’ Association’s quarterly meeting.
General and Personal. The first annual dance of the newlyformed cricket club was held last week, when, there was a good attendance. Music was played by Hooker’s Merrymakers and extras by Misses B. Seed and M. Guy and Mr. S. Gordon. Novelty dances were held during the evening, the winners being Miss Spavin and Mr. J. Hussey, and Mr. F. Kelsen and partner. A competition resulted: Mr. W. Murphy 1 and -Mr. R. Hooker 2. Mrs. R. Treweek is spending a holiday st Auckland. •
