WARMLY CHEERING CROWD

A MODERN DESIGN CHOSEN

By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Sept. 12.

Prince George arrived at Croydon from Paris in an ordinary Imperial Airways plane with 12 other passengers. A large crowd warmly cheered the Prince. Prince George motored alone to a West End court jeweller’s shop and spent 45 minutes inspecting many unset gems. Assisted by experts he chose a perfect square-cut blue Kashmir sapphire and ordered a platinum engagement ring of the most modem design with an oblong square-cut diamond oh either side of the sapphire. Prince George later left by rail for Balmoral Castle. He will return to London on Saturday to meet Princess Marina, who is arriving with her parents on Sunday. TheSßoyal party will leave London on Sunday night for Balmoral Castle.
