NEW ARMY COMMANDER
NEW ZEALAND APPOINTMENT.
AT PRESENT CHIEF SECRETARY.

Wellington, Last Night.
General Higgins has appointed Colonel Fred Adams a? the new territorial commander of the Salvation Army for New Zealand with the rank of lieutenant commissioner, according to a cable from Army headquarters. With Mrs. Adams he will sail from England about tire end of October. The new commissioner is an Englishman by birth, and all his Army service up to the present has been in Great Britain. He has been a field officer, divisional commander, field secretary and latterly chief secretary.
