MOTUNUI CARNIVAL FUNDS
A meeting Of carnival committees was held jii the Motunui hall on Wednesday night, Mr. J. Robinson presiding over a full attendance. It was called to discuss the ways arid means of spending the money raised by the carnival. The door fakings on the final night were £J6, which went to defray the expenses of the carnival. The secretary, Mr. J. Purdie, stated that the credit of the hall was in tire vicinity of £l9O. After a lengthy discussion it was decided to leave the spending of the money in the hands of the executive. A vote of thanks was given Mr. and Mrs. A. Parli for the way they had looked after the hall as caretakers and custodians. Mr. W. Draper on behalf of the guarantors said he thanked all who had helped to take the burden off their shoulders. Mrs. Davies and Mrs. Mercer have returned to Greymouth after spending a holiday with Mr. and Mrs. W. Cave.
