SOUND FINANCIAL POSITION.
SEASON’S OFFICERS ELECTED.
The annual general meeting of the Waitara Cricket Club was held on Wednesday night. Mr. H. R. Soffe presided, about 12 members being present. The balance-sheet showed receipts of £l6 12s, including a balance brought forward of £2 3s 6d. The expenditure was £l2 11s 6d, the main item being purchase of gear £7 ss, leaving a balance in hand of £4 0s 6d. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The assets were shown at £23 10s 6d, made up of subscriptions outstanding £4 10s, gear £l5, and. cash in hand £4 0s 6d, and the liabilities are nil. New members elected were: J. Jones, J. Wilson, W. Davis and S. Keith. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. W. R. Johns; president, Mr. W. Sutherland; vice-presidents, Messrs. M. Fahy, S. McAfee, C. F. Dowsett and J. Lackland; club captain, Mr. H. R. Soffe; secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. Pizzey; management committee, Messrs J. Priar, E. Bowen, R. Attrill, A. Jupp, A. Dunn and L. A. Jury; auditor, Mr. L. H. Sampson; delegates, Messrs H. R. Soffe and J. Priar. ;
The question of the Saturday team to play in the senior competition was held over.
It was decided that the secretary write the Waitara Borough Council making application for the ground on Thursday and Saturday afternoons. The chairman reported that four new bats were required, also new pads and gloves for wicket-keeping, and it was decided to purchase them as soon as funds permitted. Votes of thanks were accorded the Press and the secretary.
