A Free State Army aeroplane crashed into Mr. Justice Meredith’s garden and caught fire, Lieut. Russell and Private Toomy beeing burned to death and Sergeant Canavan seriously injured. Lieut. Russell’s brother, Colonel Russell, will pilot the Irish Sweepstake plane in the Centenary Air Race.
