NOT MUCH FAST WORK DONE.

CYCLONIC RUNS FAST HALF-MILE.

The weather was fine but cold for the final training operations this morning. The track was in good order and much faster than yesterday, but not much fast work was done. Before breakfast Midian went half a mile in 52A. King’s Knave ran two rounds at a solid pace. After the interval Cyclonic ran a very fast half-mile, the first furlong in 114, and the quarter in 24, running home comfortably in 50. DaWn Princess ran the last two furlongs of the circuit in 26 1-5. Cadland and Ida Merling ran six furlongs in 1.20, the last five taking 1.5. Prolyxo easily beat Redeem over half' a mile in 514. Ethiop was a length behind Whyte Melville at the end of five furlongs, run in 1.5. . Hukemanu ran the last four of six furlongs in 51 4-5. Useful work was done by Silent Bill, Headmistress, Superior, Nightlass, Sir Nigel, Ruanui, Limbohm, Gallant Knight, Royal Feast, and a number of others.
