GOOD PRICES TO TARANAKI
NATIONAL JERSEY BULL SHOW.
MR. P. J. PATERSON TOPS LIST.

Hamilton, Last Night.
The National Jersey bull show at the sale which opened to-day at Claudelands proved an outstanding success, the prices showing a better average than last year, while the tone was better. Over 200 entries were received from all parts of the North Island, Taranaki breeders being well represented. The judges, Messrs G. H. Bell (Oakura) «yid H. Moreland, had a heavy task in judging the large classes.
Mr. H. C. Sampson scored first in the class for two-year-old bulls with Woodlands Bright Forward. Mr. P. J. Petersen (Brixton) won a first place with the yearling Avondale You’ll Do, and Messrs. A. E. Western (Bell Block) and W. J. Bull (Pukearuhe) scored thirds. Seventy-one animals changed hands to-day, the average price being £34 18s. Mr. Petersen has topped the sale so far with the yearling Avondale Bronze Eagle (Avondale Rainbow You’ll DoAvondale All Heather), which brought 101 guineas, and was bought by W. T. Dale (Waihou). Others in the Avondale stud that brought good prices were Canny Scot (37 guineas), Lucky Boy (50 guineas) and Ruby’s Master (48 guineas).
Others sold by Taranaki vendors included: Mr. Truby King (Waitara) Weathervane (24 guineas), Oxford Standard Star (31 guineas), Butterfly’s Pioneer (25 guineas); Mr. A. E. Western (Bell Block), Brookside Patchmaster (33 guineas), Brookside Owl Pageant (22 guineas), Brookside Queen’s Star (17 guineas); Mr. W. G. Petersen, Avondale You’ll Do Lord (23 guineas), Rainbow Noble Heather (45 guineas); Mr. H. C. Sampson, two-year-old Woodlands Bright Forward (60 guineas), Woodlands Forward Spark (29 guineas). Other Taranaki breeders to be represented in the offerings to-morrow are Messrs A. J. Dempsey (Rowan), W. J. Freeth (Pukearuhe), R. Weeden (Pukearuhe), A. and J. O’Donnell (Hawera) and rf. Salway, Mrs. I. M. Salway (Bell Block). Burwell Bros. (Kaimata) were the only Taranaki buyers, purchasing the yearling Finory Golden Lad from Mr. I.' Smith (Bunnythorpe) for 43 guineas.
