MONETARY INVESTIGATION
INQUIRY PROMISED IN AUSTRALIA. FEDERAL INSTRUCTION AWAITED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 12.15 a.m. Sydney, Sept. 11. The Prime Minister, Mr. J. A. Lyons, who is conducting an electioneering campaign in the country, declared at Cowra if the Federal Parliament desired it he would have no hesitation in arranging a competent committee of investigation into the monetary system of Australia. He had no doubt, he said, that such an inquiry would demonstrate the wonderful work achieved in the depression period by the Commonwealth Bank in conjunction with the trading banks.
