REMARKABLE CONTRASTS
WEATHER IN THE BRITISH ISLES. HIGH TEMPERATURES AT LONDON. (British Official Wireless.) Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Sept. 8. There have been remarkable weather contrasts in different parts of the British Isles in the past 24 hours. Exceptionally warm, dry weather was experienced in England, particularly in the south-eastern counties, last night, with a midnight temperature at London of 71 degrees, which was the hottest since July. The day temperature yesterday rose to 82 degrees. Meanwhile in Scotland and Ireland abnormal rainfalls have been reported.
