DEPARTURE TO GRAHAMLAND
RYMILL EXPEDITION TO LEAVE. SLEDGE JOURNEY OF 1000 MILES. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 7.15 p.m. London, Sept. 10. Mr. John R. Rymill’s three-masted schooner Penola will leave to-day for Grahamland, taking the bulk of the party and supplies for three years. It is the most important expedition southward since that of Sir Ernest Shackleton, the News Chronicle says, the object being to discover whether Antarctica is one or two continents. A sledg® journey of 1000 miles will be made behind the Weddell Sea but no attempt will be made to reach the South Pole.
