Pit Ensilage.—Ensilage as a winter fodder has advanced tremendously in public favour in Taranaki over the past few years. The illustration depicts an ensilage silo on Mr. G. H. Bell’s farm at Oakura. Loaded into the silo from the field on the top level, the fodder is unloaded during the winter into drays backed in fro m the field on the bottom level.
