MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING

NEW PLYMOUTH COMPETITIONS. F. C. HOGG'S TEAM HOLDS THE CUP. Members of the miniature branch of the New Plymouth Rifle Club fired a further stage of their championship and handicap competitions during the week. On Monday night the shooting was not up to the usual standard, though possibles were recorded by N. McArtney, A. E. Marsh and S. Higgs. Detailed scores are: — A Grade: N. McArtney, 69-70-scr.-139; S. Higgs, 68-70-1-139; W. Gilbert, 67-68-3-138; S. Bird, 65-67-4-136; O. George, 67-68-scr.-135; W. Short, 64-68-2-134. B Grade: W. Roebuck, 67-4-71; C. Flenry, 66-4-70; J. Mallon, 67-2-69; V. Millman, 65-4-69; A. E. Marsh, 68-scr.-68; B. Jury, 64-4-68; V. Bott, 66-2-68; N. Lightfoot, 64-3-67; D. Rumbal, 66-scr.-66; J. Collinson, 63-3-66. Non-competition scores: Marsh 70, Lightfoot 69, J. Robinson 65. With three more shoots to go the following are the leading aggregates for the club championships: Senior, O. George 1645, S. Higgs 1643, N. McArtney 1641. Junior, D. Rumbal 815, C. Henry 811, J. Mallon 806, A. E. Marsh 802. For the final handicap aggregate the best aggregates are: A grade. McArtney 554, Higgs 551. B grade, V. Millman 277, V. Bott 274, B. Jury 274, A. E.
