COLD AND CLOUDY WEATHER
SOME FALLS OF RAIN EXPECTED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather is expected to improve on the West Coast of the South Island and in the far south but elsewhere to be still cold and cloudy with some rain. Snow is still likely on high levels and parts of the east coast. The forecast is for southerly winds, becoming fresh to strong north of Westport and Akaroa and moderate southwards. Seas in New Zealand waters will be moderate north of East Cape and south of Bank’s Peninsula, elsewhere rather rough. In the eastern Tasman Sea moderate to strong southerly winds and rather rough seas are predicted. A depression now lies parallel to the east coat of the Dominion and a rather intense anti-cyclone covers the south of eastern Australia and is extending across the Tasman.
