OMATA DISTRICT NEWS
SUCCESSFUL DANCE HELD. A very successful long-night dance was held in the Omata hall on Wednesday night, many visitors being present from a distance. Boulton’s orchestra supplied the music and Miss E. M. Sanger played an extra. A Monte Carlo dance was won by Mr. George and partner, and a lucky spot waltz by Mr. , and. Mrs. Hoffmann. Messrs. W. Sanger. ' and J. Bayly were masters of ceremonies. , The Omata Old Girls’ team met the Hurford Road team in a friendly game of basketball early in the-week, Omata winning a good game by a narrow margin, the score being 11-10. Pastures in the district have greatly benefited from the mild weather experienced in the last few days and are now j looking very green. The output at the butter factory is steadily increasing, 52 j boxes being made on Wednesday.
