ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE MEETS. NO REMITS FOR CONFERENCE. The Hawcra Boxing Association exe cutivc mot on. Thursday night. , Thosi present were Messrs. A. H. Guy (n the chair), E. T. Simon, A. H. Shaw W. Cropp, L. Davies, R. J. O'Dea am S. R. Veitch (secretary). The matter of the purchase of blazer, and dressing-gowns will be referred t< the Taranaki Boxing Council. The Hawkes Bay Association wrote ii appreciation of the enjoyable contest be tween Hawkes Bay and Taranaki team at Hawera recently. A circular was received from the Nev Zealand' Boxing Association regardinj arrangements for the New Zealanc championships. Mr. E. T. Simon was appointed a judgs for the Taranaki championships al Patca on Monday. Mr. R. W. Haddov will be referee, and there will be one other judge'appointed. The manner in which the shield donated by Mr. H. Sargent should be disposed of was discussed. The suggestion was made by Mr. Simon that the Wellington association be written to asking if an annual teams contest could be arranged for the shield as a trophy. It was decided to set the shield aside for an annual contest between Wellington and Taranaki if Wellington is agreeable, the first match to be held at Hawera and then at the two centres in alternate years. It was decided to send no remits forward to the annual meeting of delegates at the championship meeting. The delegate, Mr. A. H. Guy, was instructed to support any remit proposing the raising of the New Zealand ban against coloured boxers. A suggestion that there be a remit that the New Zealand council should provide a shield for inter-provincial contests was not shaped into a remit. After discussion it was also decided not to form a remit of a suggestion that the system of announcing winners in amateur contests be changed. At present the decisions of the two judges are placed in writing and handed by the announcer to the referee, who makes the award. The idea was to take the onus frojn the referee by having his decision in writing too for the announcer to peruse and make the award accordingly. Messrs. Guy, Veitch and Davis were appointed a sub-committee to draw up rules for the Teasdale Cup lightweight challenge trophy.
