Miss G. Hall, Kakaramea, has returned from a visit to Eltham. Miss M. McKinnon, Hawera, is staying with Mrs. Meharry at Kakaramea. Miss Jamieson, who has been Mrs. A. Maxwell’s guest, has left for Wanganui. Miss Gwen Harcourt is the guest of Miss R. Harris. Mrs. M. Ballard leaves on Monday for Wanganui for a short holiday. ■ Miss K. McPhillips, who has been the guest of Mrs. A. J. Gibbs, has returned to New Plymouth. Mrs. Besky, whose health is occasioning her friends anxiety, has lived in Alton since the time when it was standing bush and is 87 years of age. She returned to Alton about four years ago following a stay in the United Kingdom.
