CONDITIONS LATER IMPROVING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather is likely to be cold and unsettled with rain at times in most districts and hail on parts of the east coast and snow on the high levels. There should be a gradual improvement, however, from to-morrow. The forecast is for moderate to strong winds southwesterly to southerly reaching gale force in places, later moderating. Seas in New Zealand waters will be heavy on the west coast of the North Island, elsewhere rough. In the eastern Tasman sea there will be strong but decreasing south-westerly winds and seas will be rough with a heavy southerly swell. The present depression is now passing to the eastward off the Dominion and an anti-cyclone is advancing acsoss the Tasman.
