Taylor, Auckland, were guests at the Criterion Hotel during the week. Mrs. A. D. Keeling was guest of honour at a farewell bridge tea given by Mrs. M. Courtney on Wednesday after?noon. Mrs. Courtney entertained again at another bridge party on Thursday. Mrs. E. Dav?son, Wellington, is the guest of Miss D. N. Allan. Mrs. Dawson, who is a member of the national executive of the Y.W.C.A., will be the speaker at the president’s reception to-night. Last Tuesday evening at Mr. F. Parker’s home in Devon Street West an enjoyable time was spent in games and dancing at a kitchen tea given in honour of Miss G. Rowe, who is shortly to be married. Mrs. Carmichael, a member of the national Y.W.C.A. executive, arrived from Wellington last night to attend the president’s reception at- the Y.W.C.A. Miss Mary Cole x and Miss Freda Pym (former general secretaries at New Plymouth) and Miss Maisie Law, of the Auckland Y.W.C.A., arrived from Auckland yesterday and will also be present.
