LONDON RADIO EXHIBITION.
’ OVER 6,000,000 LISTENERS TO-DAY.
British Wireless. Rugby, Aug. 13. Olympia is busily preparing for this year’s radio exhibition, which opens on Thursday, and which is attracting many visitors from abroad as well as from all over Britain. Tliere are now between 6,000,000 and 7,000,000 wireless licenseholders in Britain, and the figure has grown to this huge total with amazing rapidity. ...... ... A flourishing, progressive industry has sprung up, in which competition is so / keen that it is estimated that a 20 per cent, decrease in prices will accompany a 20 per cent, increase in performance compared with the sets offered last year. Low-priced television sets will also be a feature of the exhibition, while broadcasting artists will give programmes in a temporary theatre with accommodation for 3000.
