OHURA’S SPLENDID YEAR

ALL SUB-UNION TROPHIES WON. CLUB NOW TO PLAY TE KUITI. By establishing a four-point superiority over the next competitor, Matiere, Ohura has placed the decision for the Kallil Shield in the Ohura Rugby SubUnion beyond doubt. The two games next Saturday, Ohura v. Tokirima at Ohura and Matiere v. Niho Niho at Matiere, cannot affect the result. Ohura has thus annexed the championship and all. the club trophies played within the sub-union. These are the Baker Cup, the banner (championship) and the Kallil Shield. The club has also successfully defended the Pellett Cup ' against Whangamomdna and the Carlson Cup against Taumarunui. As champion team the club has challenged Te Kuiti for the Hetitt Shield, which is the King Country trophy held by the champion team of the union. Te Kuiti won last season. The game will be played at Te Kuiti on Saturday week. Ohura beat Niho Niho at Niho Niho on Saturday by 14 points to nil. Tries were scored by Williams, Freeman and Crossman (2). The final match in the senior Rugby championship between Wellington College Old Boys (holders) and Hutt resulted in a scoreless draw. Three-quarters: Horrocks, Dermer, McCrorie. Five-eighths: Price, Harding (captain).. Half: Whitson. Back row: Fullerton-Smith. Middle row: Orton, Cranstone, Robertson, Nilson (vice-captain). Front row: Kirkcaldie, Ryan, Green. Four members of the team, Harding, Nilson, Horrocks and Price, played last year. Wanganui has already played two inter-college matches this year. Against the Palmerston North Boys’ High School team it lost 9—3, and against Te Aute it won 20—6.

While at New Plymouth the team will stay at the High School.
