MANCHESTER UNITY BALL
SUCCESS AT OKATO HALL. z Strikingly decorated with blue and gold streamers, Hempton Hall, Okato, last night attracted about 200 dancers to the Okato Lodge’s annual ball. Representatives were present from the Opunake, Rahotii, Excelsior and Egmont (New Plymouth) and. Waitara lodges. The friendly spirit always manifest at Manchester Unity Oddfellows’ functions prevailed throughout the evening, and all went with a merry swing. Old-time and modern dances comprised a well-balanced programme, the music for which was supplied by Martin’s orchestra. The supper room was decorated with green and yellow streamers, while the tables for the excellent supper were relieved with vases of flowering wattle and daphne. The supper was expeditiously served by an energetic ladies’ committee under the direction of Mrs. T. Joyce. Messrs C. Hodge, H. Slater, R. Larking and R. Tisdall were masters of ceremonies.
