AWAKINO DISTRICT NEWS
EUCHRE PARTY AND DANCE HELD. A combined euchre party and dance in aid of funds for .the Awakino Calf Club was held on Saturday last. Prizes for cards were won by: Ladies, Miss McMiken 1, Mrs. H. Purcell 2; men, Mr. J. Paltridge 1, Mr. B. Julian 2. Consolation prizes went to Mrs. A. C. Richards and Mr. J. N. Bryant. A Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss Thompson and Mr. D. Montgomery. Music for the dance was supplied by Mrs. J. McNeice, piano, and Mr. L. Bryant, violin, Mr. L. Bryant was master of ceremonies. Miss A. Wareing .is the guest of Mis. J. Terrill, New Plymouth. Miss E. Cowper has returned .from Morrinsville. Mrs. Keith Black and Mrs. G. Mc- , Millan motored to New Plymouth on Mr. G. Ross paid a short visit to Awakino during the week.
