FIRE ON SURREY COMMON
400 SOLDIERS FIGHT FLAMES. British Official Wireless. Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, June 1. Four hundred soldiers from Aidershot assisted local residents and their staffs to fight a heath fire on Surrey Common near Mr. Lloyd George’s country home at Churt this afternoon. The fire spread rapidly. The undergrowth being exceptionally dry owing to the drought.
