Mr. S. Rawle, Inspector of Police for the Taranaki district, will resume duty at New Plymouth to-day after his annual leave.

Miss Elsie Andrews and Dr. E. F. Fookes have been elected as parents representatives on the New Plymouth High Schools Board. Mr. F. R. G. Souness, Waiaruhe, Dannevirke, has been appointed manager of the Rai Valley Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd,. Marlborough. He will take up his duties on June 11.

Considerable improvement in the condition of Mr. Gordon Fraser, New Plymouth, who became ill at Wellington when en route to Australia, was reported last night, though he was still not out of danger.

The Rev. H. V. C. Reynolds, Lower Hutt, has been, accepted by the Bishop of Melanesia for work in the mission. He will not leave Lower Hutt until the end of the year, when it is understood his place will be taken- by the Rev. J. R. Neild.

The Ven. Archdeacon A. S. InnesJones has resigned his position as a trustee of the Wellington Diocesan School for Girls, “Nga Tawa," Marton. He has also tendered his resignation from his charge of St. Barnabas Church, Roseneath. The latter resignation does not take effect until October 1. The Rev. D. B. MacGregor, son of Mr. Justice MacGregor, has been appointed vicar of Leighton Buzzard in the diocese of St. Alban’s, England. The patron of the living is the Bishop of Ely. Mr. MacGregor worked as a layman in St. Paul’s parish before he went to College House, Christchurch, and to Westcott House, Cambridge.

The death occurred at New Plymouth yesterday of Mr. John Sanders, aged 77. Coming from Cust, Canterbury, as a young man, Mr. Sanders commenced farming on the Lepper Road, Inglewood, about 50 years ago, his task being the formidable one of breaking in bush land. A quiet, industrious man, he was widely known as a successful farmer. He took an active interest in the Methodist Church and was an office-bearer at Inglewood and New Plymouth, whence he retired to live in Courtenay Street many years ago. Mr. Sanders, who was married twice, is survived by his widow. There are no children.
