PUBLIC NOTICES. NEW PLYMOUTH BOROUGH LAND EXCHANGE AND EMPOWERING (Local Bill). IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is the intention of the New Plymouth Borough Council (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) to introduce in the forthcoming Session of Parliament a Local Bill under the title of “New Plymouth Borough Land Exchange and Empowering Act, 1934.” The objects intended to be effected by the said Bill are as follows:— 1. By way of exchange to vest in the Taranaki Jockey Club (Incorporated) free from the trusts and reservations now affecting them all those pieces of land containing together 3 roods 16.44 perches Being firstly Section 1264 and Part Section 1263 New Plymouth (containing 1 rood 29.49 perches and being part of the Taranaki Botanic Garden now known as Pukekura Park) And secondly Part Section 34 Fitzroy District New Plymouth (containing 1 rood 26.95 perches and being part of Brooklands Recreation Reserve) all such lands being now owned by the Council and to vest in the Council free of encumbrances all that piece of land containing 1 acre 2 roods 16.87 perches being parts of Sections 34 and 35 Fitzroy District New Plymouth (now owned by The Taranaki Jockey Club (Incorporated). x 2. To empower the District Land Registrar to amend existing Certificates of Title affected by the foregoing exchange and to issue fresh Certificates of Title. 3. Without restricting the powers of the Council under “The Taranaki Botanic Garden Act, 1876,” to declare that all lands vested in the Council under that Act (now known as Pukekura Park) shall be deemed to be a Recreation Reserve within the meaning of “The Public Reserves Domains and National Parks Act, 1928,” and to extend the powers of the Council accordingly. . 4. To enable the Council to expend in the laying out and planting of a rhododendron garden situate partly in Pukekura Park and partly in Brooklands Recreation Reserve adjoining such Park the sum of £350 received by it as a bequest under '' the will of the late Charles Score Sanders for the purpose of enlarging and improving the existing Rhododendron Dell in Pukekura Park. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that copies of the said Bill and of the plans of the lands affected by the said Bill have been deposited at the Magistrate’s Court, Robe Street, New Plymouth, and another set of copies of the said Bill and plans has been deposited at the public office of the New Plymouth Borough Council, Municipal Buildings, Liardet Street, New Plymouth, and that all such copies are open to public inspection' during office hours .without fee for a period of three complete weeks from the first publication of this advertisement.
