CLOSE RESULTS ON SATURDAY TUKAPA’S DEFEAT OF OLD BOYS ELTHAM WINS BY SMALL MARGIN I . SATURDAY’S Taranaki Rugby matches, played in rain, saw a majority of close and exciting finishes. A margin of 18 points to 9 points was the highest score recorded. That was registered by Tukapa against Old Boys at New Plymouth. All the games showed the worth of the provincial system of Star and Patea had a hectic struggle, while Eltham beat Hawera by one .point. Opunake had a.„ similar margin against United, and Stratford had a tussle before defeating Kaponga. Results are: — Tukapa 18 Old Boys 9 Stratford 8 Kaponga 3 Patea 10 Star 8 Waimate 12 Inglewood 8.
