CONSERVING WATER SUPPLY
REGIONAL COMMITTEES FORMED.
ACUTE POSITION IN BRITAIN.

The authorities responsible for water supplies are framing- plans for making use of fresh sources and conserving the existing ones in places where there is or may be. a shortage. Sir E. Hilton Young speaking at .Swindon said applications for orders under the Emergency Act recently passed by Parliament were coming in and he was arranging for a standing conference of three representatives bodies of the British Waterworks Association, and the 'lnstitute of Water Engineers and Water Companies, the association to act in cooperation with the Ministry. He had also appointed a special officer of the Ministry to promote the formation of regional water committees.
