THE PREACHER'S NOTES.
His brother had a remarkable experience when. preaching to an audience of shearers in the centre of the bush, said the Rev. Lionel B. Fletcher, in a speech reported in the Aberdeen Press. “The men lounged on wool bales in their shirt sleeves and smoked cigarettes. A wool bale was his pulpit, and just prior to his sermon he arranged two pages of notes in front of him. ■ “Then from the back one of the men shouted, ‘Hey, boss, how do you think we can remember all that when you can’t remember it yourself!’ It made one a preacher when one tried to preach to an unorthodox audience like that”
